Firefighters worked through the day Wednesday, trying to save the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library alongside hundreds of homes, farms, and businesses, from the “Easy Fire” that raged across Simi Valley, California, torching more than a thousand acres. It turns out, though, that the more than 700 personnel fighting the blaze had a hand from some hairy fire abatement professionals: a herd of hungry goats. That’s right: a herd of goats may have helped save the Reagan Presidential Library. CNN reports that a “herd of as many as 500 goats” was given the run of a hillside, conveniently located between the fire and the Library, earlier this year. The goats ate all of the available vegetation in their grazing zone, creating a natural firebreak, and depriving the fast-moving Simi Valley wildfire of fuel. Nine Cuban democratic socialists wrote a blistering open letter condemning American democratic socialists such as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), blasting the Democratic Socialists of America, a group both women belong to, for their support of Cuba’s Communist government. A new, massive wildfire is now raging through Southern California, threatening communities in Simi Valley and forcing the evacuation of numerous sites in southern California, including the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. By 10 a.m., it had grown to 1,300 acres and was threatening about 7,000 homes, spurred on amid extreme red flag conditions and powerful Santa Ana winds,” a local CBS affiliate reported Wednesday. She was reacting to a CNBC report on so-called “income inequality” that alleges it would take the average employee at a corporation 100 years to make what his CEO makes annually. To drive this point home, Omar selected the example of Walmart, claiming that the median pay for a Walmart worker is about $22,000, while Walmart’s CEO Doug McMillon takes home almost $23,000,000.
