A senior citizen brought home the prize of her life this week after a hunting trip with her son in Phillips, Wisconsin. Bill Teeters said his 104-year-old mom, Florence, told him last year she wanted to get a hunting license. This week, she got her wish and accompanied him during a hunt on their land in Price County, according to NBC 15. “I took mom out to the blind this year. I had a nice chair for her and it was nice and warm,” said Bill, who is the youngest of Florence’s five children. “A little after 4 p.m., a buck shows up about 30 yards away. A two-month old girl is on life support and expected to die after her mother allegedly punched her in the face and slammed her against the floor. The mother, Nina Singleton of Chicago, allegedly beat the girl starting shortly after she was born because they girl reminded her of her ex-boyfriend. Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Christina Dracopoulos said Singleton told the police this is why she beat her baby girl. “Every time (Singleton) looked at the victim, (she) imagined the ex-boyfriend being there, and that’s why the defendant punched the victim,” Dracopoulos said, as  reported  by The Chicago Tribune. “Singleton admitted to police that she swung the girl over her head by the legs and slammed her onto the tile kitchen floor ‘face first,’ Dracopoulos said,” the Tribune reported. “Though Singleton claimed the incident occurred on Nov. 20, doctors believe it actually happened just hours before the baby was discovered by her father.” The Chicago Sun-Times  reported  that Si

A new report from Vice’s Motherboard shows that the most despised of all government agencies has been selling our personal information in order to raise revenue. The California DMV, specifically, raises $50 million a year selling this information. From Motherboard: In a public record acts request, Motherboard asked the California DMV for the total dollar amounts paid by commercial requesters of data for the past six years. The responsive document shows the total revenue in financial year 2013/14 as $41,562,735, before steadily climbing to $52,048,236 in the financial year 2017/18. The document doesn’t name the commercial requesters, but some specific companies appeared frequently in Motherboard’s earlier investigation that looked at DMVs across the country.
