“Net neutrality” is coming to an end, as the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission announced Tuesday that he will repeal the Obama-era internet regulations. “The federal government will stop micromanaging the internet,” said Ajit Pai, FCC chairman. What is net neutrality? Net neutrality rules, established in 2015 under the FCC’s then-Democratic majority, allowed the federal government to prevent internet service providers from blocking or slowing down access to content, or from charging consumers more for certain content. The purpose of the rules was to give consumers equal access to web content and prevent favoritism from internet service providers. What happens now? Harrowing footage has been released of the moment a North Korean soldier was shot by his comrades as he made a mad scramble to freedom across the border. The United Nations Command (UNC) in South Korea released the video as Kim Jong-un’s regime was accused of violating an armistice agreement put in place in 1953 following the Korean War, by shooting across the border as well as actually crossing the Military Demarcation Line (MDL). The soldier, whose rank and identity have not been disclosed, was flown by a US military helicopter to a hospital after his escape south in a hail of bullets fired by the North on November 13. The video, which is divided into five sections, takes place over just a matter of minutes. Beginning at 3.11pm local time, the defector can be seen speeding towards the MDL in a Jeep before appearing to get stuck in a ditch. Cherokee County, GA – A Baptist pastor used a gun to protect his wife and three daughters from a home intruder Nov. 16. Euharlee Baptist Church Pastor Keith Beck heard glass breaking, and found 19-year-old Donavan Simmons trying to break into his house. “The homeowner advised that the suspect was making entry into the basement area of his home when he shot in the general direction of the suspect,” Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Marianne Kelley told the Atlanta Constitution-Journal. The pastor fired one shot, and hit the intruder in the head. A neighbor, Bill Kennedy, told WSB TV the Beck family heard the intruder breaking into their basement window. “Come to the door and she was screaming, ‘Invader in the house!’ and her two kids were still in there asleep,” Kennedy said. “I think he did the right thing, protect his family.” The pastor’s wife and 12-year-old child escaped the house, but the couple’s two younger children were still in a bedroom when their father shot...
