He Hasn’t Seen His Dad In 6 Months. When He Turns Around, His Reaction Is Priceless

A heartwarming surprise was brewing when Airman John Grieten stepped inside his son’s school after being away for so long. Being deployed, Airman Grieten hadn’t been able to see his 15-year-old son Joshua or 11-year-old Jessica for six months.

Joshua was sitting at the lunch table with no idea that his dad was nearby. When Grieten entered the room, a huge smile appeared on his face knowing how joyous this reunion was going to be. Even though the anxious moment was building more and more the closer he got to his son, he kept quiet for his plan to unfold.

Instead of making a loud, surprising entrance, he politely comes behind his son and asks, “Can I sit here?” Tears instantly rush down Joshua’s face as he is beginning to realize his dad finally made it home. The sweetest reply came from his son who has Down syndrome, “Dad!” He jumped out of his seat with a huge embrace, welcoming his dad home.

The surprises just kept coming thanks to the playful heart of Grieten; he certainly wasn’t about to leave out his daughter Jessica from the fun. He made a subtle appearance at her school. Though many of the students at the cafeteria spotted Airman Grieten right away in his uniform and mischievous smile.

But what counts is that Jessica had no idea he was around. When he comes over, just wait until you see her sweet surprise from dad. Watch the video below to see her adorable reaction.
