Sarah Sanders Silenced the Reporters Who Said General John Kelly Supports Slavery

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders silenced the reporters who claimed that White House Chief of Staff, General John Kelly, is a supporter of slavery just because he said historic monuments shouldn’t be taken down.

“Because you don’t like history doesn’t mean you can erase it and pretend it didn’t happen,” Sanders stated Tuesday. “That’s the point General Kelly was trying to make. And to try to create something to push a narrative that simply doesn’t exist is, frankly, outrageous and absurd.”

Kelly has been facing criticism for saying he believes historic monuments, like the Confederate general Robert E. Lee and Christopher Columbus, shouldn’t be taken down just because some snowflakes believe they are offensive.

“One hundred or 200 years from now, people will criticize us for what we do. And I guess they’ll tear down statues of people that we revere today,” Kelly stated. “It’s just very, very dangerous and it shows you how much of a lack of appreciation of history [there is today].”

Kelly was criticized also for claiming that the “inability to compromise” was the reason which prompted the Civil War.

“The lack of an ability to compromise led to the Civil War, and men and women of good faith on both sides made their stand where their conscience had them make their stand,” he said.

The mainstream media immediately twisted Kelly’s remarks to make them sound like he is supporting the slavery and idolizing Robert E. Lee.

“It is absurd and disgraceful to keep trying to take [comments] out of context to mean something they simply don’t,” Sarah Sanders said at the press conference Tuesday.

She said Kelly was only implying that no leader is perfect, but that doesn’t weaken their historical significance.

“All of our leaders have flaws,” Sanders said, citing former presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Kennedy, and Theodore Roosevelt. “That doesn’t diminish their contributions to our country, and we certainly can’t erase them from history.”

Kelly is not the only one who thinks that historical monuments shouldn’t remove. Charles Barkley attacked the Antifa for tearing down the monuments they suddenly find offensive and racist.

“That is wasted energy,” said Barkley, who has voted mostly for Democrats. “I’m not going to waste my time worrying about these Confederate statues.”

When asked what should happen to the Confederate statues, Barkley said: “I am 54 years old. I’ve never thought about those statues a day in my life. If you ask most black people, they haven’t thought a day in their lives about those stupid statues.”

The Liberals were fine with these statues while Obama was the president, but when Donald Trump became president they suddenly felt these monuments are “racist.”

When people are demanding to be taken down the “offensive” monuments, here are some few other monuments they might want to be removed:
