CNN’s Cuomo Embarrasses Gillibrand on Live TV After She Claims No Dems Voted to Confirm Gorsuch

On Thursday, CNN’s Chris Cuomo had to fact-check Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) after she claimed zero Democrats voted to confirm U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch.

“[Gorsuch] didn’t get a vote from one Democrat,” she declared.

Gillibrand also railed against Gorsuch for undermining women’s rights, union rights, and “basic civil rights” in the United States.

“I don’t think people are going to trust that President Trump isn’t going to do what he said he’s going to do,” she added.

Visibly confused, Cuomo said he, correctly, thought Gorsuch was confirmed with three Senate Democrats voting in favor.

Senators Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.), Joe Manchin (D-W.V.), and Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) were the only three Democrats to vote yes.

“Are you right that he didn’t get one vote? Didn’t he get three,” Cuomo asked.

“He got no Democratic votes,” Gillibrand replied. “They stood strong and they passed it with Republican votes.”

After looking off-camera, Gillibrand then said Chris “might be right.”

“I believe this Democratic caucus will stand together. Because you’re really deciding whether or not you value women and you want them to have basic civil rights and civil liberties over their own choices,” she added.
