Ex-CNN Producer Puts Jim Acosta’s ‘Self-Serving Antics’ on Blast After He Screamed Questions at Trump

After footage of him screaming questions at President Donald Trump on Friday went viral, a former CNN producer is calling out White House correspondent Jim Acosta for his “self-serving antics.”

Sharing a story about Acosta’s behavior on Twitter, former senior digital producer for the network, Steve Krakauer, called his performance an “embarrassment.”

“Truly an embarrassment, on multiple levels,” he wrote. “Jim Acosta’s self-serving antics give all good journalists a bad name.”

Krakauer continued laying into Acosta in a second tweet:

“On a day journalists could honor the memory of fellow reporters tragically killed due to a deranged person with a vendetta going back years, Acosta tries to shift the blame to Trump, thus validating many Americans’ feelings about the Acela Media (that existed long before Trump).”

Krakauer’s criticism comes after Acosta was caught on video repeatedly shouting questions at the president a day after the tragic shooting at Maryland’s Capital Gazette, which took five lives.

“Mr. President, will you stop calling the press the enemy of the people?” he yelled after President Trump addressed the tragedy, which some speculated he had contributed to with his heated, media criticism.
