WATCH: CNN’s Acosta Screams Questions at Trump Across the Room — Then the Guy in Front of Him Turns Around

Controversial CNN reporter Jim Acosta has repeatedly shouted questions at President Donald Trump but on Friday, someone other than Trump and press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told him to be quiet.

As Trump ended one of his speeches, Acosta tried shouting a question about whether he would stop saying the media was the “enemy of the American people.”

“Mr. President, will you stop calling the press the enemy of the people?” he asked.

His question came just a day after the shooting at a Maryland newspaper and some speculated that Trump caused with his heated, media criticism.

Trump, during his speech, specifically said journalists shouldn’t have to fear violence. “Journalists, like all Americans should be free from the fear of being violently attacked while doing their job,” he said.

While Acosta and others seemed to think he was brave, one man seemed to speak for Acosta’s critics when he told the CNN reporter to shush:

As Acosta shouted his question over boisterous applause, one man turned around, put his finger over his mouth, and appeared to say “shuuuushh.”

The unidentified shusher received mixed reactions on Twitter:

And despite the fact that Acosta tried to shout his question during loud applause, he complained that Trump didn’t answer him:

Some on Twitter mocked Acosta and suggested his expectation was ridiculous given how he asked the question:

Acosta faced some more intense backlash earlier this week when he attended Trump’s rally in South Carolina. A woman reportedly confronted him and during one of his reports, someone held up a “CNN SUCKS” sign. The crowd also chanted “Go home, Jim!”
