LeBron Accuses Trump of Using Sports to Divide the Country — Yet Refuses to Sit Across From Him

Basketball player LeBron James accuses President Donald Trump of being divisive, yet refuses to sit and have a discussion with him.

During an interview with CNN, James discussed his dislike of Trump’s rhetoric towards NFL players kneeling for the National Anthem.

“What I’ve noticed over the past few months, he’s kinda used sports to kinda divide us, and that’s something that I can’t relate to,” said James.

James went on to say that participating in sports allowed him to interact with people who he felt were different than him for the first time.

“Sports was the first time I was ever around someone white,” said James. “I got an opportunity to see them and learn about them, and they got the opportunity to learn about me … And I was like, ‘Oh wow, this is all because of sports.’”

However, he has been extremely outspoken against the president, even tweeting after Trump disinvited the winning NBA Championship team from coming to the White House.

When asked if he would ever meet with the president, James was very firm in his response, saying “I would never sit across from him.”
