‘The Goalpost Moving Never Stops’: Sen Hatch Calls Out Dem Senator After She Calls FBI Investigation a ‘Farce’

Senator Orin Hatch (R-Utah) didn’t waste any time calling out Senator Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) after she called the FBI investigation into the accusations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh a “farce.”

The senator from Hawaii sat down for an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopolous to discuss the pending investigation into Judge Kavanaugh’s allegations, calling it a “farce.”

I would think that Jeff Flake and the other senators who are going for this investigation will call for… there’s time, you know. The thing is that every Senate vote matters and there’s time to get to the bottom of it, even if it’s seven days. That’s bad enough. And then to limit the FBI in the scope of who they’re going to question, that really… I wanted to use the word farce, but that’s not the kind of investigation that all of us are expecting the FBI to conduct.”

Sen. Hatch wasn’t thrilled to hear Sen. Hirono make these claims, despite multiple concessions from Republicans during this investigation into the fully uncorroborated claims against Judge Kavanaugh.

The senator didn’t let her comments slide, stating that “the goalpost never stops moving.”

As for now, the FBI investigation has a cap of seven days before the report is due and the full Senate body will vote to either approve or deny Judge Kavanaugh’s position as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court.

So far, none of the accusations against Judge Kavanaugh have been corroborated and many believe that the FBI will not uncover any new findings. Several senators, both Republicans and Democrats, vowed not to vote until the additional seven-day investigation was completed.
