Mike Huckabee Unleashes on ‘Selfish Narcissist’ Flake for Vowing to Oppose Trump’s Judicial Picks

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) stalled things on Capitol Hill as he stood firm in voting against President Donald Trump’s judicial nominees until legislation is voted on to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, an investigation that’s looking into possible collusion between Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Moscow.

On Wednesday, Flake showed that he wasn’t swaying as he voted “no,” siding with Democrats, to confirm Thomas Farr as a U.S. District Judge — resulting in Vice President Mike Pence needing to step in to break a tie procedural vote.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee called out Flake as a “selfish narcissist,” adding that the senator’s hate toward the president outweighs “his sense of duty.”

“Good riddance!” Huckabee wrote on Twitter to the soon-to-be-retired senator.

“Flake is a selfish narcissist who would stop one of the few things he actually could do for his country-confirm responsible judges. His hate of @realDonaldTrump exceeds his sense of duty. His proposal is unconstitutional anyway. Good riddance! Go hide in an elevator!”

Huckabee’s elevator comment comes from when Judge Brett Kavanaugh was being confirmed to the Supreme Court — in the midst of sexual misconduct accusations — Flake was approached by a group of sexual assault survivors who encouraged him not to vote for Kavanaugh’s confirmation, which led to Flake to call for a delay to the vote for an FBI investigation.

After what had occurred with Flake’s wavering vote, the Senate Judiciary Committee — which Flake is a member of — canceled all plans on Thursday to vote on nearly two dozen of President Trump’s judicial nominees.

If Flake voted no, along with other Democrats, none of the picks would move out of the committee, Fox News reported.

“So my commitment to not vote for judges before the committee or on the floor until we get this done stands,” Flake said earlier Wednesday about the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act, a bill that would protect Mueller’s probe.

“This is a solution in search of a problem,” Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell said earlier this week about “probably” blocking the bill.

Flake, a vocal critic of Trump, will soon be on his way out the door — or elevator — as he didn’t seek re-election and will be succeeded by Democrat Kyrsten Sinema on January 3.
