‘The View’ Cohost Doesn’t Even Try to Hide Hypocrisy on Tear Gas Controversy: ‘I Don’t Care What Obama Did’

There has been a lot of talk on whether the use of tear gas was the right call as migrants tried to force their way across the southern border on Sunday, however, one of the “The View” co-hosts didn’t try to hide her hypocrisy that it didn’t matter tear gas was deployed during former president Barack Obama’s administration, it only matters for President Donald Trump’s.

“The View” ladies discussed the tear-gassing at the southern border after migrants threw rocks and debris at U.S. Border Patrol officers.

Co-hosts Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman pointed out that Obama had done the same.

During the Obama administration, tear gas was used sometimes more than once a month until the use significantly dropped in 2013.

However, co-host Sunny Hostin took up the defense that it only mattered with the Trump administration, but not before co-host Joy Behar tried to defend Obama.

“Do they have a photo like that when Obama was in office?” Behar asked.

Huntsman then explained:
“In that piece, it said over a period of four months in 2014 under the Obama years HHS allegedly placed a number of unaccompanied children into the hands of a ring of human traffickers, who forced them to work on egg farms in and around Ohio, leading to a federal and criminal indictment. According to the indictment, the minors victims were forced to work six and seven hours a week, 12 hours per day. These are the things we don’t talk about.”

“The last I checked President Obama is no longer in office,” Hostin said in defense, disregarding facts that Hostin shared. “President Trump is in office!”

“And he’s destroying the country!” Behar reacted.

“I don’t care what Obama did!” Hostin said. “I care what Trump is doing right here right now!”

As IJR Red noted, Chief Patrol Agent of the Border Patrol’s San Diego Sector Rodney Scott defended, on CNN, officers emitting tear gas at the border, saying they were threatened by migrants trying to enter the U.S. illegally.

“What I saw on the border yesterday was not people walking up to Border Patrol agents and asking to claim asylum … If they were truly asylum seekers, they would have walked up with hands up and surrendered, and that did not take place.”

President Trump also defended the use of tear gas on Monday when he said it was a “very minor form of the tear gas.”

Noting that a reporter in the video asked about the “women and children” in the migrant caravan — which has been a popular remark by left-wing media — one MSNBC reporter flipped that narrative when he said that the majority are actually men who aren’t articulating the need for asylum.

Watch the video below:

“Here’s the bottom line: Nobody’s coming into our country unless they come in legally,” President Trump said earlier Monday, The Hill reported.
