BREAKING: New “Person of Interest” in Vegas Shootings

Earlier today, we reported that Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock sent $100,000 dollars to the Phillipines, most likely to girlfriend Marilou Danley, before embarking on his deadly crime. Now comes word of just how interested the authorities are in Danley.

The Daily Caller reports that Danley, a 62-year-old Filipino woman who was in the Phillipines at the time of the attack, is still considered a “person of interest” in the investigation. Paddock and Danley lived together in Nevada.

The Daily Caller has no further details. NBC News reported Monday that while law enforcement would very much like to speak with her to develop a clearer picture of what happened, why, and how, she is not currently suspected of a role in the atrocity:

“We have had conversations with her and we believed her, at this time, not to be involved. But obviously that investigation will continue,” Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo said, adding that Danley had been located out of the country. “She was not with [Paddock, the suspected shooter] when he checked in. We have discovered he was utilizing some of her identification.”

NBC News investigative reporter Tom Winter has a roundup of the case’s latest updates on Twitter:

TFPP will continue to follow this story and keep you updated as it unfolds.
