Mike Huckabee Made Incredible Joke About the Turkey Trump Pardoned

President Trump continued the annual tradition of pardoning a turkey for Thanksgiving, but Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee used the opportunity to make a joke about the bird on Twitter.

During the traditional presidential ceremony held on Tuesday at the White House, Trump said that the turkey he was pardoning is named “Drumstick.”

Replying on this, Huckabee pretended to have made a serious mistake.

“Uh oh! U see the turkey @realDonaldTrump pardoned at @WhiteHouse ? Well, @PressSec asked me to ‘take care of it’ and I may have misunderstood. Yikes!” he posted on Twitter.

Huckabee, Sarah Huckabee Sanders’s father attached two photos on his post showing Drumstick standing in front of the Trump family at the pardoning ceremony, while the other photo showed a turkey cooking in the oven.

The users immediately were amused by Huckabee’s joke and appreciated his humor.

Trump replied that Drumstick had nothing to fear.

“I’m pleased to report that unlike millions of other turkeys at this time of year, Drumstick has a very, very bright future ahead of him,” he said from the White House Rose Garden.

Besides Drumstick, Trump also pardoned two other turkeys for ending up on the Thanksgiving dinner table. As Western Journal reported the other bird was named Wishbone and was a substitute of Drumstick.

Twitter users had a chance to vote on a poll which bird should be pardoned by President Trump. Drumstick had 60% of votes and Wishbone’s 40 percent.

Anyhow, the president decided to save both turkeys.

“Upon being pardoned, Drumstick and his friend Wishbone will live out their days at Gobblers Rest, beautiful place,” he said. “It’s custom built, it’s an enclosure on the campus of Virginia Tech.”
