Trump Goes After Democrat’s Proposal to Repeal His Big Accomplishment — ‘This Is Too Good’ for GOP
President Donald Trump criticized Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) for giving the GOP a massive victory by introducing a bill to repeal the president’s namesake tax cuts.
Trump didn’t address Polis by name in his tweet, instead opting to identify him as a “Democratic lawmaker.” He explained to his followers that the lawmaker introduced a bill to repeal the GOP tax cuts, which he believes has “no chance” of happening.
“This is too good to be true for Republicans,” he added.
A Democratic lawmaker just introduced a bill to Repeal the GOP Tax Cuts (no chance). This is too good to be true for Republicans…Remember, the Nancy Pelosi Dems are also weak on Crime, the Border and want to be gentle and kind to MS-13 gang members…not good!

The president then switched gears from Polis and shifted onto House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democratic Party as a whole.
He tweeted to “remember” that Pelosi and the Democrats are “weak on crime, the border, and want to be gentle and kind to MS-13 gang members.”
In contrast to the Democrat’s proposal to repeal the tax cut, which is “too good” for Republicans, Trump shared that the Democratic policies he previously mentioned are “not good.”
Business Insider reported Polis introduced a bill that would repeal the GOP’s tax cuts, passed in December, and redirect the additional taxpayer money to eliminating student debt. It would also reportedly make college more affordable.
“The Republican tax plan was all about special interests cashing in at the expense of everyone else,” he explained. “My plan shows what a difference we can make for middle-class Americans for even less cost.”
About an hour after the president’s tweet, Polis tweeted that he “proudly” introduced the bill and told voters they had a “simple choice” to make during the 2018 midterm elections.
“President and GOP lose by cozying up to corporate special interests,” he tweeted. “We win by standing up for students, public schools, and families.”
I proudly wrote the bill to repeal @RealDonaldTrump’s tax giveaways. Simple choice this election: President and GOP lose by cozying up to corporate special interests. We win by standing up for students, public schools, and families. RT if you agree. https://t.co/tShVAGuANE

Ahead of Polis’ bill introduction, Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) penned an op-ed explaining a proposal to “revisit” the tax cuts for the top one percent and use that money to “invest in teachers and students.”
