The Ratings Are In After ‘Last Man Standing’ Premiered on Fox — It’s Much Better Than the Previous Season at ABC

Hit television show “Last Man Standing” got a ratings bump after premiering on Fox on Friday.

According to Variety, the show brought in 2 million more viewers during its Season 7 premiere than its Season 6 premiere on ABC (8 million viewers versus 6 million on ABC).

The show also got a 1.8 rating, a level not reached by the show since Season 2. The last time the show had 8 million viewers was during Season 4.

As IJR previously noted, “Last Man Standing” moved to Fox amid complaints that ABC wrongly canceled the show despite its solid performance in the ratings.

Some suspected that the show was on the chopping block because its characters expressed opinions that were seen as conservative.

Although Fox was already interested in picking up the show, it was encouraged even more by the success of “Roseanne,” whose main character, Roseanne Conner, embraced President Donald Trump.
