‘The Goalpost Moving Never Stops’: Sen Hatch Calls Out Dem Senator After She Calls FBI Investigation a ‘Farce’

Senator Orin Hatch (R-Utah) didn’t waste any time calling out Senator Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) after she called the FBI investigation into the accusations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh a “farce.” The senator from Hawaii sat down for an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopolous to discuss the pending investigation into Judge Kavanaugh’s allegations, calling it a “farce.” Watch: Sen. Hirono: This FBI probe is already shaping up to be a "farce" pic.twitter.com/PuAyUGjxiw — Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) September 30, 2018 I would think that Jeff Flake and the other senators who are going for this investigation will call for… there’s time, you know. The thing is that every Senate vote matters and there’s time to get to the bottom of it, even if it’s seven days. That’s bad enough. And then to limit the FBI in the scope of who they’re going to question, that really… I wanted to use the word farce, but that’s not the kind of investigation that all of us are expecting the FBI

WATCH: Kellyanne Conway Reveals She Is A Victim Of Sexual Assault

White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway revealed Sunday that she was once sexually assaulted. Conway shocked Jake Tapper, telling the host of CNN’s “State of the Union” that Kavanaugh’s nomination should not be treated as a flashpoint for the #MeToo movement, and Kavanaugh should be given the presumption of innocence. Huge: Feinstein to Be Investigated

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein has made a mockery out of the Supreme Court nomination process. Now, she has found herself in hot water following the controversy surrounding Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and it has everything to do with her alleged treatment of Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford. Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton appeared Sunday on CBS’ “Face The Nation” and took Feinstein to task for how she used Ford. “The Democrats have disgraced this process and the United States Senate in the orchestrated smear campaign of character assassination they’ve run against Judge Kavanaugh,” Cotton said. “She has been victimized by the Democrats in this process,” he added. “They betrayed her own requests for confidentiality. They leaked this to the media at the last minute because they are on a search-and-destroy mission for Brett Kavanaugh.” For his part, Cotton empathized with Ford, saying she was “sympathetic” an

‘I’m a Victim of Sexual Assault’: Kellyanne Conway Shares Her Story to Americans to Blame Perpetrators, Not All Men

Kellyanne Conway made a painful revelation about her history of sexual assault during an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s State of the Union. Conway was on to discuss the fallout from the hearing for Judge Brett Kavanaugh and the pending FBI investigation. While discussing uncorroborated allegations about the judge, Conway revealed that she is a victim of sexual assault. ‘FULL SCALE’: Sen. Lindsey Graham Says He’ll Launch Investigation Into Who Leaked Kavanaugh Accuser’s Letter

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) announced Sunday that he plans a “full scale” investigation into who among his Democratic colleagues leaked Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s letter, accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, to the Washington Post. Graham appeared on ABC News’ “This Week,” to discuss Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearings, and doubled down on harsh comments he made during his opportunity to question Kavanaugh, accusing Democrats of malfeasance, and implying that Dr. Ford was railroaded by operatives. “We’re going to do a wholesale, full scale investigation of what I think was a despicable process to deter it from happening again,” Graham said. “The FBI will do a supplemental background investigation, then I’m going to call for an investigation of what happened in this committee. Who betrayed Dr. Ford’s trust?” he continued. “Who in Feinstein’s office recommended Katz as a lawyer? Why did Ms. Ford not know that the committee was willing to go to C

Kavanaugh Accuser Lied About Background, Has History Of Making Sexual Misconduct Claims In Workplace, Report Says

One of the women who has accused Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct from over 30 years ago allegedly has an extensive history of making sexual misconduct claims in the workplace and has lied about her background to employers. Julie Swetnick, who is represented by sensationalist Democratic lawyer Michael Avenatti, faced serious allegations of misconduct in a lawsuit brought by Portland-based Webtrends, a company where she was employed for a few months in 2000. Webtrends said in the lawsuit that Swetnick claimed that she graduated from Johns Hopkins University and that the company subsequently learned that the university had no records of her ever attending, and that she also made false claims about her work experience. OregonLive reports: The suit also alleges Swetnick “engaged in unwelcome, sexually offensive conduct” while at Webtrends and “made false and retaliatory allegations that other co-workers had engaged in inappropriate conduct toward her.” The suit alleges Swetni

ABC’s Terry Moran Suggests It Would Be Illegitimate To Overturn Roe v. Wade With ‘Male Majority’ Court

Image
On Friday, ABC News chief foreign correspondent Terry Moran spoke with George Stephanopoulos about the possibility of Brett Kavanaugh making it to the Supreme Court. STEPHANOPOULOS: Let’s say for the sake of argument, for just this minute right here, that he does get through – that it is a 51, perhaps, 49 partisan vote. What does he do in that situation as he ascends to the highest court in the land? MORAN: Well, he had better take into that lifetime appointment a sense of the woundedness of so many people in the country, and factor that into his decisions. Overturning Roe v. Wade by an all male majority, two of whom have had credible accusations of sexual misconduct lodged against them, would not be a legitimate action, and that is the question of the court – legitimacy. It has always had a very high place in American popular opinion and it could lose it if it loses legitimacy. During his brief remarks, Moran makes three rather uncomfortable missteps. First, he suggests that “ove

‘Gosnell’ Review: A Chilling True Story

Image
‘Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer’ is based on the frightening true story of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, known as ‘America’s most prolific serial killer’ who ran a filthy healthcare clinic in Philadelphia, where he brutally murdered babies born alive. Through the crowdfunding efforts of producers Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer, the story comes to life in this film. Detectives James “Woody” Wood (Dean Cain) and his partner Stark (AlonZo “Zo” Rachel) are investigating illegal prescription drug sales when they hear a name, Dr. Kermit Gosnell (Earl Billings). Convincing district attorney Dan Molinari (Michael Beach) and assistant district attorney Alexis “Lexy” McGuire (Sarah Jane Morris) to back warrants for Gosnell’s abortion clinic, what they find shocks them. They find his clinic and later home in abhorrent condition, infested with cats and fleas. The investigators find a chilling trail of deaths in the clinic, not just of babies, but of adults. They learn that the h

The Ratings Are In After ‘Last Man Standing’ Premiered on Fox — It’s Much Better Than the Previous Season at ABC

Image
Hit television show “Last Man Standing” got a ratings bump after premiering on Fox on Friday. According to Variety, the show brought in 2 million more viewers during its Season 7 premiere than its Season 6 premiere on ABC (8 million viewers versus 6 million on ABC). The show also got a 1.8 rating, a level not reached by the show since Season 2. The last time the show had 8 million viewers was during Season 4. As IJR previously noted, “Last Man Standing” moved to Fox amid complaints that ABC wrongly canceled the show despite its solid performance in the ratings. Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years. #lastmanstanding — Tim Allen (@ofctimallen) May 16, 2017 Some suspected that the show was on the chopping block because its characters expressed opinions that were seen as conservative. POLLS: Surge in Republican Voter Enthusiasm — Even Before Latest Kavanaugh Hearing

A new Gallup poll shows Republicans’ enthusiasm five weeks before the mid-term elections is rising fast, putting them neck and neck with Democrats, who held a big margin just weeks ago. “Sixty-one percent of Democrats and Democratic leaners and 58% of Republicans and Republican leaners say they are more enthusiastic about voting in November compared to prior elections. These levels roughly match Republicans’ record-high enthusiasm in 2010, Barack Obama’s first midterm, when the GOP won a whopping 63 seats. But this is the first time in Gallup’s trend since 1994 that both parties have expressed high enthusiasm,” Gallup reported. Most fascinating in the poll is the comparison to 2010. In the first mid-terms since Obama was elected — and the first after the passage of Obamacare without a single GOP vote — Democrats got shellacked, losing 63 seats in the House of Representatives, the largest seat change since 1948 and the largest for any midterm election since the 1938 mid-term elections

Sen Grassley Roasts Bernie Sanders in Sarcastic Letter About Kavanaugh Investigations

Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) called out Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for blatant politicization of the investigation into Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Sen. Sanders contacted Sen. Grassley about the testimony Judge Kavanaugh delivered during his hearing, fully denying all allegations of sexual assault. Sen. Sanders highlighted what he saw to be several inconsistencies with Judge Kavanaugh’s testimony. He then penned a letter to Sen. Grassley demanding that the FBI investigate these inconsistencies. Lying to Congress is a federal crime. The FBI must examine the veracity of Kavanaugh’s statements under oath in addition to the sexual assault allegations against him. Kavanaugh's truthfulness with the Senate goes to the very heart of whether he should be confirmed to the court. pic.twitter.com/TsNOTm4fxK — Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) September 29, 2018 Sen. Sanders also called for more time for the FBI to conduct its investigation, pointing to the Republicans’

Kanye West — Wearing MAGA Hat — Booed After Delivering Pro-Trump Rant At Saturday Night Live Premiere

Kanye in 2020! (Well, maybe 2024.) Rapper Kanye West ruffled feathers on Saturday when he delivered a pro-President Trump rant in front of a hyper-liberal crowd at the “Saturday Night Live” premiere. After the show was over, West donned a “Make America Great Again” hat and went on a tear. “After the finale, where he sang Ghost Town from Ye with 070 Shake, Kid Cudi, and Ty Dolla $ign, Kanye made a speech, which was met with boos,” The Daily Mail reported. In a softly spoken sermon delivered above slowly-played chords, West spoke about his approval of Donald Trump, running in 2020 and how things can progress in America. ‘So many times I talk to a white person about this and [they] say, “How could you like Trump? He’s racist,’ ” he said. ‘Well, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.’ The New York Post reported more. “I wanna cry right now, black man in America, supposed to keep what you’re feeling inside right now,” he sang as he paced the

Matt Damon Plays A Shouting, Raging, Beer-Chugging Kavanaugh On Saturday Night Live Season Premiere

Saturday Night Live kicked off its new season on Saturday night, and of course they picked the Brett Kavanaugh hearing as the topic of their cold open. Actor Matt Damon played the Supreme Court nominee, portraying him as an angry drunk who doesn’t “know the meaning of the word ‘stop.'” After being introduced at the Senate Judiciary Committee, Damon sits down, sniffs a few times, then yells “What?!” “Let me tell you this: ‘I’m gonna start at an 11, I’m gonna take it to about a 15 real quick.” “First of all, I showed this speech to almost no one, not my family, not my friends, not even P.J. or Tobin or Squee,” Damon said, referring to Kavanaugh’s high school friends who Christine Blasey Ford claims were present when Kavanaugh allegedly sexually groped her during a drunken party 36 years ago, when he was 17. “I wrote it last night while screaming into an empty bag of Doritos.” “I’m here tonight because of a sham. $85K-a-Year Yale Law Cancels 31 Classes So Students Can Protest Kavanaugh

When Yale Law School students took to the campus Monday to protest against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, many did not need to worry about what might be happening in class. The school canceled 31 of its classes that day to give students a wide open schedule to oppose President Donald Trump’s second nomination to the Supreme Court. Students at Yale Law, which posts an annual cost of slightly more than $85,000, staged a sit-in wearing black to demonstrate against Kavanaugh’s confirmation. After Reopening FBI Probe, Trump Promises Kavanaugh Will Be Recognized as a ‘Truly Great Justice’ on SCOTUS

Image
President Donald Trump announced the start of an FBI investigation into his Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, while praising Kavanaugh as one day being a “truly great Justice.” Trump called the FBI probe the “7th” FBI investigation on Kavanaugh. On September 27, both Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford shared their testimony before members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and a sex crimes prosecutor. Ford accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her decades ago during a high school gathering. She claimed he pinned her to the bed and attempted to remove her clothes while putting his hand over her mouth when she tried to scream. Ford wrote Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) a letter in July to describe the allegations. “I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation. I did not do this back in high school or at any time,” Kavanaugh said in defense to the accusation. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) announced to the Senate Judiciary Committee during Friday’s committee v

Who Said This Was OK? We the People Have To Take Our Country Back

For years, our society seems to be losing its values and moral compass, and I can’t help but ask “who said it was OK?” The last few years have made me ask that question more and more. It’s a question that applies to the ridiculousness of men/boys wearing their pants falling half-way down to political comments that no self-respecting person would have said 20, 30 or more years ago. Americans have become so busy being politically correct that they haven’t noticed how far we have declined over the years. I’m a veteran and when I entered the U.S. Air Force in 1970, I knew it was illegal to threaten the president of the United States, especially in an airport. When did it become OK for our elected representatives to publicly suggest violence on the president, first lady, their family, cabinet and supporters? Can Maxine Waters answer that question? Who said it was OK for Hollywood types to threaten to blow up the White House? Where’s the Secret Service when these public threats are made?

Grassley Chews Up Bernie Sanders And Spits Him Out Regarding Kavanaugh

On Saturday, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), chairman of the Judiciary Committee, issued a blistering response to Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT), who had apparently expressed an interest in the current supplemental FBI background investigation revolving around Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Grassley started by pointing out that on July 10, less than 24 hours after President Trump announced he was nominating Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court, Sanders announced, “(w)e must mobilize the American people to defeat” Judge Kavanaugh. Grassley then noted that members of the Senate had been given access to 307 judicial opinions Judge Kavanaugh wrote during his twelve years on the bench, over 500,000 pages of documents, over 40 hours of live testimony, and answers to more written questions than every prior Supreme Court nominee combined. Grassley repeated, “Nevertheless, you made a decision on this nomination in less than 24 hours.” Grassley blasted: “Your public statements clearly reveal how unimport

BREAKING: Judiciary Refers Potential False Allegations Against Kavanaugh For Criminal Investigation

The Senate Judiciary Committee has referred potentially false allegations of misconduct by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to federal law enforcement officials for criminal investigation after the accuser recanted his story. The allegation was made by a Rhode Island man who claimed that an “acquaintance” of his had been raped by Kavanaugh in August 1985 on a 36-foot boat in Newport, Rhode Island after meeting him at a bar. “In a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Chris Wray, Chairman Chuck Grassley sought a criminal referral of the actions by a named individual who provided Congress with the information, diverting Committee resources from an ongoing investigation,” The Senate Judiciary Committee said in a statement. “Committee investigators have actively pursued a number of tips the committee has received regarding the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, though the committee has not been able to substantiate any allegations of wrongdoing

Female Host Slams Idea Women Should Be Unconditionally Believed, Crowd Boos Her

Image
CRTV host Allie Beth Stuckey was booed during the 2018 Texas Tribune Festival in Austin, Texas after she said that unconditionally believing all women is unjust while she defended Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. “I’m devastated to see a man’s life almost in ruins based on uncorroborated and unsubstantiated allegations,” Stuckey told the audience. “I’m devastated by the thought of a world in which people are guilty until proven innocent and the burden of proof is on the accused.” “I listened to both of their testimonies and while I think both are believable, I think only Kavanaugh is credible,” Stuckey continued. “He’s the only one that has any substantiation for anything that he said; he’s the only one with any corroboration; he’s the only one who has gone through six FBI background checks; the only one that has any evidence for anything that he is saying and witnesses to back up what he’s saying.” “He’s the only one that has that and yet we’re supposed to unconditionally bel

WATCH: Joy Behar Claims ‘White Power’ Is The Driving Force Behind Kavanaugh’s Confirmation

Joy Behar, who co-hosts “The View” on ABC, said on Friday that “white power” was the motivation for Republicans to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. The discussion first focused on the aftermath of the Judicial Committee hearing with both Kavanaugh and Dr. Christina Blasey Ford and then quickly devolved into an odd discussion about race and demographics that caused co-host Whoopi Goldberg to push back at Behar. Behar first cited statistics from the Brookings Institution which claim 61% of the U.S. population is white, but the percentage will likely drop to 49.7% by 2044. “Pretty soon we’ll be like South Africa, apartheid, where 10 percent of white people were running the country,” Behar said. “It seems like the trajectory that we’re on here.” Goldberg stated, “That may be the trajectory we’re on, but that’s not where we’re going… that’s not what’s happening.” “We hope not, but this is what they want,” Behar continued. “The people who are only interested in retain

‘Last Man Standing’ Makes Triumphant Return with Ratings Win

Image
The revival of “Last Man Standing” was a rating success Friday night as the debut of its seventh season — its first on Fox — was the highest rated show for the night. “Tim Allen and Fox are waking up to some very good news this morning,” wrote EW’s James Hibbered. “ABC not so much.” Viewers across the nation were disappointed when ABC canceled the popular show in the spring of 2017 after six seasons. The show was off the air for a season and was then picked up by Fox. On Friday, “Last Man Standing” averaged a 1.8 rating in adults 18-49, Variety reported. The 8 p.m. show drew 8 million viewers. The show’s Fox debut outstripped its season six debut on ABC, when the conservative-themed comedy scored a 1.1 rating with 6 million viewers. “Like with the huge ratings return of ‘Roseanne’ last spring, the strong numbers for LMS likely indicate an appetite for shows that provide a different perspective to most fare on TV,” Deadline explained. According to EW, “this was Fox’s most-watched
